One look at this beautiful swimming pool and outdoor area and it is easy to see that the owners of this magnificent two storey property situated along the South Yunderup canals in Western Australia have perfected the feeling of holidaying at home!

The back door of the house opens up onto a limestone paved alfresco area, perfect for entertaining on those balmy summer nights. Limestone steps lead down two distinct levels of the backyard all the way to the owner’s private jetty. The first of the sunken levels incorporates this stunning fibreglass swimming pool, purchased from Aqua Technics (Aqua Technics Mandurah).

The pool featured is the Aqua Gym which measures 5.59m long x 2.54m wide and features a large seating area as well as a reclining spa seat. This pool was the perfect size for the space that was available and the spa jets in the Aqua Gym have allowed the couple to enjoy the relaxing features of a spa while still having the pool of their dreams. The pool is finished in Pool ColourGuard^® Black Coral, which now includes a Lifetime Interior Surface Guarantee*. The dark colour of the pool provides a stunning contrast against the neutral limestone paving. The warm tones create a soothing, elegant and modern feel that harmonises the entire outdoor area.

Dark wooden decking surrounds the pool area and beautifully complements the limestone bullnosing and alfresco paving. The client organised their own paving and decking and also installed a number of halogen lights along the limestone wall by the side of the pool. The aim was for the swimming pool to be the focal point of the outdoor area in the evening as well as during the day, so ample lighting was necessary to achieve this.

The owners have also built a unique box seat to house the pool pump and equipment. The deck-chair style seat was made in the same timber as the surrounding decking to keep the warm tones consistent throughout the area. This is a fantastic, functional and attractive addition to the pool side!

Some more limestone steps lead to the lowest level of the backyard and the custom built wooden jetty. The jetty was cleverly designed to match the decking used around the swimming pool. The sun-lounges which are also found on this level are truly the best seat in the house to appreciate the canal views and stunning boats that cruise past!
